Taskriz and Square
Both text and email customers a link that opens the right page. Square sends its own reminders, invoices and payment links for businesses that sell on Square; Taskriz lets your Agent send customers, contractors and suppliers a screen made for any request.
In short
Square
Payments, point of sale and business tools. Square Appointments, Invoices and Payment Links text or email customers a link to Square’s pages, where they confirm, reschedule or cancel a booking, pay or sign.
Taskriz
A service for reaching people outside your business. Your Agent sends a customer, contractor or supplier a request whose screen it designs (choices, dates, photos, documents), and gets the answer back as structured data. People answer from the link they’re sent, with no app and no account, and each answer can lead to the next request in the same conversation.
What they share
- A link by text or email. Both reach customers on their phone, with no app.
- Reminders. Both remind people about what’s coming.
- Made for small businesses. Both start free.
Side by side
| Square | Taskriz | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Payments and point of sale, with Appointments, Invoices, Payment Links and Marketing for sellers | A hosted service that gives any Agent a way to reach customers, contractors and suppliers, with plugins, an MCP server and an API, and no app for you to build |
| Who answers | Your customers, from Square’s reminder texts and emails, invoices and payment links | Anyone your Agent sends a request to: customers, contractors, suppliers. They answer from the link they’re sent, with no app and no account, straight away or days later |
| Reaching people | Appointment reminders by SMS or email at a lead time you choose, confirmations on Plus and Premium, and links you send; Square Messages, its two-way texting, isn’t offered on its Australian site | Taskriz sends it for you: an email, a text message in Australia and the United States, or a notification in the Taskriz app |
| Where people answer | Square’s web pages | In the browser on any phone or computer, or in the Taskriz app |
| What a request can ask | Square’s set screens: confirm, reschedule or cancel a booking (if the seller allows it), pay an invoice or a payment link with custom fields, sign a contract, or rate a purchase | A screen your Agent designs for each request, from iOS-style building blocks: choices, switches, dates and times, numbers, notes, photos and documents |
| Answers back to the Agent | Into Square: the calendar, invoices and payments; the Bookings API and a beta MCP server cover Square’s own data | As structured data, matched to the request: through the plugins, a signed webhook, a WebSocket or the events list, whenever the person answers |
| Connecting your Agent | A beta Square MCP server and APIs such as Bookings, for Square’s own data; no way found to send a customer a custom request | Plugins for Claude Code and ChatGPT (desktop and Codex), the Taskriz MCP server for any MCP client, and an HTTPS API for any Agent or workflow |
| The next step | Square’s set flow: reminder, confirmation, then the booking page | Your Agent decides from the answer and sends the next request on the same conversation, with a new screen made for it: one thread the person sees, over days |
| Payments | Built in: card on file, deposits, no-show fees and Afterpay | Not offered: use the payment provider you already have |
| Cost | Appointments Free A$0, Plus A$40 and Premium A$90 per location a month; online card payments 2.2% | Free to start: 500 requests a month, no card; then Builder at $29 or Business at $99 a month. No seats, and the people who answer never pay |
Security
Square holds booking, customer and payment details for the seller. A Taskriz request is sealed to the person’s own devices.
| Square | Taskriz | |
|---|---|---|
| Who can reach a person | The seller, through Square’s reminders, invoices and links | Only Agents made by a Taskriz account, and only the people they send requests to; people can decline or disconnect an Agent whenever they wish |
| Encryption | Not covered in the pages checked for this comparison | Each request is sealed to the person’s own devices and stored that way, and travels over TLS 1.2 or later |
| Who can read a request | Square holds bookings and customer details for the seller | Only the person’s devices: a request passes through Taskriz while it’s delivered, and is never stored or logged readable |
| Running the interface | Square’s own booking, invoice and checkout pages | In a WebAssembly sandbox with no network or file access of its own |
To be plain about Taskriz too: files sent with a request or reply are encrypted on our servers but not sealed to devices, and two-step sign-in is on the Roadmap. Security has the details.
When Taskriz fits
- You need more than Square’s set screens: a quote with options, photos of the problem, access details, a delivery window.
- You deal with contractors and suppliers as well as customers.
- Your Agent should decide the next request from the answer, as one conversation.
- You want each request sealed to the person’s own devices, whatever you use for payments.
When Square fits
- You take bookings and payments on Square, such as a salon or clinic.
- You want deposits, no-show fees and payment built into the booking.
Questions
What’s the difference between Square and Taskriz?
Square sends customers its own reminders, invoices and payment links, opening Square’s set pages for bookings and payments. Taskriz lets your Agent send customers, contractors and suppliers a screen made for any request, and get the answer back as structured data.
Can a Square reminder offer other times?
Customers can confirm, and reschedule or cancel on Square’s page if the seller allows it. With Taskriz, your Agent can offer the next times, or another person, in the request itself.
Does Taskriz take payments?
No. Square is built around payments; Taskriz gets the decisions, details, photos and documents a job needs, alongside whatever you use to get paid.
About this comparison
Square was checked in October 2026 from its Australian Appointments pricing, its help on customer confirmations and its MCP server documentation. Taskriz is not affiliated with Square. What Taskriz is building next is on the Roadmap.
